How Long Your Content Lives
RightNow is designed for in-the-moment sharing. Most content automatically disappears to protect your privacy and keep conversations fresh.

Visible to Others: How long other users can see your content in feeds, chats, and profiles.
Visible to Creator: How long you can see your own content. In most cases, this matches the visibility to others.
Hard Delete: When content is permanently removed from our servers. After this point, the data cannot be recovered.
All messages are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read message content. Messages automatically disappear 24 hours after being sent. The encrypted data remains on our servers for up to 30 days for delivery reliability, then is permanently deleted.
Stories are visible for 24 hours from posting. After expiration, stories are moved to a grace period and permanently deleted after 72 hours total. However, expired stories are automatically saved to your private Story Archive, where only you can see them. Archived stories are kept until you choose to delete them.
You can curate expired stories into Highlights that appear permanently on your profile (up to 10 highlights). Highlights remain visible until you remove them.
Horns appear in the main feed for 24 hours. Each time a horn is reposted, its feed visibility extends by an additional 24 hours. On your profile, horns remain visible for 7 days. After 7 days from posting, Horns are permanently deleted.
When you create a prompt, you choose how long it stays active (15 minutes to 12 hours). After expiration, prompts and their responses are archived but remain on our servers for up to 365 days for analytics purposes, then are permanently deleted.
Posts are designed to be permanent content. They remain visible until you delete them. You can delete your posts at any time from your profile.
When creating a poll, you select the voting duration. Results remain visible until you manually delete the poll.
Your Privacy Matters
We believe in giving you control over your digital footprint. Unlike other platforms that keep your data indefinitely, RightNow is designed to be ephemeral by default. Messages use end-to-end encryption, meaning only you and your recipient can read them.
If you delete your account, all associated data is queued for permanent deletion. This process may take up to 30 days to complete across all our systems and backups.
